ince SIG Sauer introduced its Elite Performance Ammunition line in 2014, the company has continued to update and expand its ammo offerings. Now SIG has announced it is adding a supersonic .300 AAC Blackout load to its Elite Performance lineup.
The new SIG Sauer Supersonic .300 Blackout Elite Performance ammo features a match-grade 125-grain Sierra MatchKing projectile. The bullet also incorporates a unique hybrid hollowpoint design for maximum expansion on impact.
As with SIG’s previous Elite Performance 220-grain subsonic .300 Blackout cartridges, the new supersonic .300 Blackout cartridges are designed for optimal performance with semiauto rifles such as the SIG MCX or the AR-15 platform. These cartridges utilize match-grade brass cases and function with standard .223 Rem./5.56 NATO magazines without reducing capacity.
“The .300 Blackout is an increasingly popular caliber with target shooters and 3-Gun competition shooters, and is also an excellent round for home defense in short-barrel rifles, including the SIG MCX and M400,” said Bud Fini, vice president of marketing for SIG Sauer. “Elite military units are also evaluating the .300 Blackout as their primary CQB load. More modern sporting rifle hunters are turning to the .300 Blackout for close-range hunting of midsize game, including hogs and deer. We are pleased to now offer our customers both supersonic and subsonic rounds to meet their shooting and hunting needs.”
All Elite Performance Ammunition is manufactured in the U.S. Retail availability date and pricing on the new SIG Sauer Supersonic .300 Blackout load are not yet available.
